The worst part is when the pirated versions are better than the official ones, like games with Denuvo draining FPS. Or those old games that you cannot play other that through pirated version, like the Black and White games.

like 90% of the people who illegally aquire copies would not have bought the game anyway. but if you offer a good service and enable them to buy that game at a later time for a discount, you might still be able to earn what they can spend.

In the end their product isn't games, it is convenience. Easy to buy, easy to install, easy to play with friends, they make the whole experience so uncomplicated even the pirates cannot compete.
