Comparing Environmental Destruction: 2013 vs. 2026 Gaming

This side-by-side comparison highlights the difference in environmental interaction between two different game titles. The bottom clip features gameplay from the 2013 title Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, showcasing a character using a blade to slice through a tree. The top clip shows a character in a Wolverine-themed game, where the character strikes a wooden pole, resulting in static scratch marks rather than the dynamic destruction seen in the older title. The comparison emphasizes how different game engines and design philosophies handle environmental damage over a thirteen-year span.

I like shiting on Wolverine as much as the next guy, but that's not really a fair comparison. This was a pretty unique gameplay feature in MGR. I can't even think of any other game that does this.

Wasn't it supposed to be an open world game and it got out of control in cost so they nerfed it?

MGR was something special, no other game before and after it had such dismemberment.
