Physical offline disc to be precise, if anything goes down i can just insert the disc and play SP right away (or unpack). Thats what exacly we need and demand. Online anything should be optional. Patches and DLC's could be downloadable and applied from USB. So I can play whenever
I miss the early 2000s, borrow a new AAA Titel from the public library for two bucks, made an image of the disc with alcohol 120% and play it nearly for free.

For years now unfortunately disks only contained the base version of the game and the license. After installing it, you still have to download a huge update file. If they stop the online support, you will be left with a release version of the game, which mostly are shite nowadays
If you pirate is, it's yours, with or without internet connection or if servers fail.
