User Gets Creative Revenge After Coworking Space Refuses Account Deletion

User Gets Creative Revenge After Coworking Space Refuses Account Deletion - Funny on Aviaclip

When a user attempted to close their account at a coworking space to stop receiving unwanted marketing emails, they were told by customer service that account deletion was impossible. The representative suggested that the user simply change their account email address to one they do not use frequently to avoid the messages. In a retaliatory move, the user updated the account's contact information to the email address of the specific customer service representative who provided the advice, effectively redirecting the spam back to the source.

When changing to HIS email, he needs to click the link to confirm, in the automated email sent as part of email address change. But he won't do that.

say what you want about the EU regulations being excessive sometimes, but this is a nice example of it giving its citizens a knife and saying 'here, use this' (GDPR, mandatory unsubscribe from targeted spam, etc)
