Reflecting on the Social Pressure to Drink Alcohol

Reflecting on the Social Pressure to Drink Alcohol - Interesting on Aviaclip

A social media post from the account 'iamthirtyaf' highlights the personal choice to remain alcohol-free for 32 months. The author clarifies that their decision was not prompted by a crisis or alcoholism, but rather a realization that alcohol no longer added value to their life. The post addresses the ongoing social friction of declining invitations for 'just one drink,' questioning why a simple lack of desire to consume alcohol is not considered a sufficient or valid reason by others in their social circle.

I stopped too. Alcohol is a scam. I feel better, save a lot of money. I was not alcoholic in the least, just realized it was a stupid waste.

I'm currently going through this lol one day I realized i just enjoyed being sober and feeling great all the time more. It's amazing how even one drink can throw off your sleep. So far it hasn't been a big deal. They can order what they want and I stick with a lemon water. People

So you are just like a vegan but just for booze. Do you tell everyone about this? CrossFit too?

lena_31xAug 29, 2026

Nobody asked. Sounds like you just hate your friends and needed an excuse to abandon them.

You don't have to drink alcohol to "grab a drink" with your friends. Dude, order something tasty without alcohol. It's not hard.
