Pilot Explains Why Commercial Planes Don't Carry Parachutes for Passengers
In this humorous interview, a pilot is asked why commercial airplanes are not equipped with parachutes for passengers. He offers a blunt and pragmatic response, suggesting that if passengers struggle to operate simple cabin features like tray tables during snack time, they would be completely incapable of safely using complex emergency equipment like parachutes in a high-stress situation. The pilot's dry wit highlights the practical difficulties and safety concerns that would arise if untrained civilians were expected to perform emergency skydiving maneuvers during a flight crisis.

Survival jumping from a commerical plane with a shoot is 10%
You dont want to give people that option. The ability to just go see ya fuckers and jump wherever they want. Some influences would do it once a month. Also do you really want a parachute made by the lowest bidder.
They would take up a lot of extra room and weight. So you could say goodbye to carryon luggage or have your suitcase limited. And although I have parashuted a few times and know how they work, I'd rather fly commercial without them, than only have 15kg luggage for my holiday.
Imagine being inside an airliner as all the "average" intelligence people pull the ripcord immediately as soon as a door is opened letting the wind in.
Hear me out.. give the airplane a parachute.
I can find no fault in his logic.
Agree with him. In case of such emergency, except if the plane is full of japanese, but people are going to panick, step over others, be violent, don't even know how to put on or use a parachute. And in the end the plane would crash, with nobody managing to open the door
Yeah, imagine jumping out of plane flying 810km/h
Never mind that nobody's getting the exterior doors open pulled inwards inside the pressurized cabin, especially not with a panicking group of passengers. And if the cabin is depressurizing, you'll have a hard time making it to said door anyway.
