Viral Post Claims Tech Entrepreneur Used AI to Design Custom Cancer Vaccine for Dog - Technology on Aviaclip

A viral social media post details the story of an Australian tech entrepreneur who reportedly used ChatGPT and AlphaFold to design a custom mRNA cancer vaccine for his rescue dog, Rosie. According to the post, the individual spent $3,000 to sequence the dog's tumor DNA and utilized AI tools to identify mutated proteins and drug targets despite having no background in biology. After navigating a three-month ethics approval process, the dog received the vaccine, which allegedly resulted in the tumor shrinking by half and an improvement in the dog's overall health. The post highlights the potential for AI to accelerate medical discovery and raises questions about the future of personalized medicine for both animals and humans.

even if they develop cures for various diseases, YOU won't get them. It'll be a 200.000$ treatment only the rich can afford

There's a bunch of reasons. One of them being - if something goes extremely sideways we can put down the dog on the spot and whatever bullshit sprouts out of him won't be compatible with us so it won't infect us (at least mathematically the chances are really really low).

"AGI" lol. Stochastic parroting is not AGI, even when it produces a great result. Also the custom vaccine did not cure the tumor. Also he only paid $3000 because the chatbot prices are heavily subsidized, the actual provider (OpenAI in the case of ChatGPT) probably lost like $20,

there's juat way more $$$ in treating cancer rather than just curing it outright, so don't expect to see this available (other than as a private service to a select few of the very rich) anytime soon.

There have already been doctors using AI to design treatments for humans. Just because the major media out lets don't report it doesn't mean it isn't happening.

Yes, the core story is true, but the viral post exaggerates the details. In 2024, Australian tech entrepreneur Paul Conyngham used ChatGPT and AlphaFold to help map out a custom mRNA cancer vaccine for his rescue dog, Rosie. However, the post leaves out critical facts: • He did n
