Revisiting the 1989 Underwater Sci-Fi Horror Film Leviathan
The 1989 film Leviathan, directed by George P. Cosmatos, is a science fiction horror movie set in the deep sea. Featuring a cast that includes Peter Weller, Richard Crenna, and Ernie Hudson, the film follows a group of underwater miners who encounter a dangerous threat while working on the ocean floor. With the tagline 'How long can you hold your breath?', the movie is often compared to other late-80s deep-sea thrillers. It remains a notable example of practical effects and creature design from that era of cinema, sparking ongoing discussions among fans about its legacy compared to modern genre films.

Cabin in the woods is pretty good too
What the fuck, I watched that a few days ago out of nostalgia and someone posts this on 9 gag? Weird coincidence. Or the algorithm worked its magic again ? Anyway, yeah, the effects are good. The story is average. And yeah, miles better than the slop we get now.
But have you watched The Abyss ?
Watch "below", or "ghost ship" Both great
Awesome movie. Deep star six was good too.
Now this was a real masterpiece
Fun movie but in no way a "masterpiece". People need to stop throwing around that word
Underwater 2020. With Kristen Stewart.
Nothing beats Abyss
Sphere was pretty good as well...
