A Nostalgic Look at Shutting Down Windows 98
This video captures the classic experience of powering down a vintage computer running the Windows 98 operating system. The footage shows the iconic 'Windows is shutting down' screen displayed on a retro Compaq Presario CRT monitor, complete with the familiar desktop icons and a mountain lion wallpaper. The setup includes a period-accurate Packard Bell keyboard and a tower unit featuring a digital clock speed display set to 133MHz. The clip concludes with the user manually pressing the power button on the tower to complete the shutdown process, offering a brief trip back to the late 1990s computing era.

My childhood!! Oh the memories. Thank you
this is the culprit
You told it to shut down and it didn't restart. It's malfunctioning.
I remember that background, it was 8MB for beer sake.
I have MCSA. No longer a recognised certification but I have it......for Window XP
you didn't know it was the last time you'd shutdown windows 98.
That's when the mainboard doesn't support ACPI.
Win 98 on a 133mhz Pentium... no wonder the PC sounds like a jet taking off. I used it with a 266 PII and it was barely usable. You wanted a early Pentium III for that to run good. Like a 667mhz one. And then later you could even run XP on that one. Since ME never existed...
Back then, if you have certifications on Windows 95-98 and Microsoft Office, you can land a job that pay you well
where was the "it is now safe to turn off your computer" prompt?
