"A man allegedly connected" is meaningless. They already wrote "alleged" so why the "connected"? Seems like this tweet is completely meaningless and is just aimed to affirm what people already believe without actually saying anything.
It's ABC. They're very well known for being second, only behind CNN, for omitting all of the facts that they wish weren't facts. Their philosophy is that "truth is whatever the most people believe to be true".
